If there was a contest for ‘most exciting consulting project of all, I guess our project would win it hands down, for very few things can be more exciting than predicting the future! And that too in the field of energy, which is the most important driver for sustainability of human civilization.
With so much urgency and criticality built around CO2 emissions and pertinent climate change in case this is not controlled, every one is concerned and worried about the future! Switching to renewable sources of energy is a panacea that can avert the impending crisis. That is exactly what our ICP Company does – producing centralized renewable energy, globally.
Our project in particular is about scoping out the business potential of ‘de-centralized energy’ generation from renewable sources. De-centralized or Distributed Energy model allows collection of energy from many local sources and then distribution and usage of it locally. From energy perspective- this model creates self-sustaining units out of homes and communities. Since the generation is from renewable sources, this model is also environment friendly. This novel concept is already being piloted in certain countries like Germany and United Kingdom and the initial results are quite promising.
In this project, we are studying the entire ecosystem of Energy and Electricity production and usage globally. Till now we have deep dived into the demand and supply drivers and created a comprehensive snapshot of how the industry operates. Now we will be creating a thorough representation of scenarios that are expected to make this distributed energy model, a success.
And this process is nothing short of fascinating! By now, our team has attended super stimulating seminars on Energy futures, Climate control, talked to experts in depth about smart grids and going forward, will be studying pilots across Europe, attending annual conferences on the topic in Amsterdam and finally doing a workshop with the Project team in Oslo, Norway – which is where the company is based!
Hence, it is not surprising, that our group is seen, working around late nights, even on weekends, having animated discussions, making charts and graphs and at the same time, feeling super excited about it. We have a lot of work to do in the next 4 weeks for delivering a successful project, and we are confident that we will be able to achieve it, perfectly.
Guess, this just goes to prove – “When work, commitment, and pleasure all become one and you reach that deep well where passion lives, nothing is impossible”
