Education has always been a cornerstone of my family. My mother taught me that an educated woman shapes a more intelligent generation and her children’s future. This inspires me to learn because I believe that education significantly impacts not only my career goals but also my family.

Before joining IMD, I worked in the banking industry in Indonesia for 10 years. Despite my experience, I wanted to deepen my expertise by pursuing formal education. The knowledge acquired from an MBA will equip me with a rigorous foundation for being a better banker with solid, in-depth knowledge and the benefit of broader thinking. As a female leader in the Indonesian financial services industry, I need to learn to think critically and collaborate with people globally.

IMD provided the best opportunity and ideal environment in which to build my competencies and collaborative learning with global perspectives. In particular, I was attracted to its unique approach to shaping leaders and embedding students with an understanding to go beyond and contribute to society. The learning-by-doing approach encourages students to experience real leadership development and I’m sure the progressively challenging assignments, overseen by leadership specialists, will enhance my leadership and strategic skills.
Diversity isn’t just a concept here, it’s my daily reality. From the moment I stepped into the classroom, peers from over 30 nationalities surrounded me, each bringing unique perspectives shaped by their cultures, industries, and experiences. For me, diversity at IMD isn’t just about nationality; it is about mindset, industries, and problem-solving approaches. I am genuinely thankful to have the opportunity to study with ambitious students who have established themselves as future leaders alongside world-class professors. This experience has pushed me outside my comfort zone, helping me develop adaptability.

My goal is to gain a transformative learning experience that will shape me into a well-rounded leader in the banking industry. More than just acquiring business knowledge, I aim to develop a strong strategic mindset, enhance my leadership capabilities, and refine my ability to navigate complex financial and business challenges.

IMD’s hands-on learning approach, particularly through the leadership development stream and real-world business projects, is helping me to strengthen my decision-making and critical thinking skills. I’m learning how to manage uncertainty, lead diverse teams, and develop innovative solutions to industry challenges, as well as to collaborate with peers from different backgrounds, whilst broadening my global perspective.
Ultimately, I hope to emerge from this program with the confidence, skills, and strategic vision needed to drive positive change in Indonesia’s banking sector and make a meaningful impact as a leader.
