Abdul Malik reflects on the friendships, challenges, and transformative learning experiences that have shaped his MBA journey as graduation approaches.

It’s hard to believe that graduation is just 75 days away. Time has passed so quickly, and when I pause to reflect, I realize just how transformative this journey has been. From modules and case studies to late-night group meetings and integrative exercises, every step has pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined.

When I first set foot on campus, I was filled with excitement but also nerves. Although I had professional experience in the banking industry, I didn’t come with a strong background in economics or finance. I often wondered: Would I be able to keep up? Could I truly thrive in this environment?

The answer didn’t come all at once, but gradually, through the people and experiences that shaped this program. Working alongside so many talented and driven classmates taught me the power of collaboration and how to appreciate different perspectives. With the steady support of my Personal Development (PDE) Analyst and Coach, I gained the tools to build confidence, communicate more effectively, and find my own voice in the classroom and beyond.

The Integrative Exercise

One of the most memorable academic experiences was the recent integrative exercise. It was a culminating challenge that asked us to bring together everything we had learned since day one: finance, strategy, accounting, marketing, and leadership, into a single project. It was demanding, both intellectually and emotionally, but it reminded me that success doesn’t come from working in isolation. It comes from being open: sharing what you’re working on, seeking feedback, and staying resilient as a team.

The integrative exercise was just one milestone; ultimately, all of this prepares us for the International Consulting Project (ICP), where the classroom meets reality, and everything we’ve studied finds purpose.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee

Beyond the classroom, I’ve also had the privilege of joining the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee. This has been a deeply meaningful part of my year, as it gave me the chance to contribute to initiatives that foster a more inclusive environment for all students. From celebrating Holi, the festival of colors from India, hosting a global music night, to organizing a global movie night, we created moments that highlight the richness of our diverse backgrounds and reminded us that inclusion is best built through shared experiences and joy.

With just a few months left, I’m grateful for the friendships, mentorship, and lessons that have carried me this far. These 75 days are not just a countdown; they’re a chance to celebrate what we’ve achieved together and prepare for the next chapter with courage and optimism.
