MBA participant, Lionel Vaucher, is spending his summer break crossing the Swiss Alps.

During the MBA summer holiday, Lionel Vaucher decided to spend his time crossing the Swiss Alps. His journey is taking him from East to West through 14 different passes. With more than 23’000m of ascent over 390km, his path is running through the entire variety of the Swiss landscape.

While part of his purpose was to enjoy a ‘no phone-no wifi-no internet’ kind of trip, Lionel did share with us a couple of photos and insights into his trip so far.

Lionel reports, “Mountains can be really rewarding. However, the unusually bad weather conditions this summer, and the late snow that we had, makes it very challenging to cross Switzerland through the mountains this year.”

He was joined by one of his classmates, XiaoYang, for two legs of the trip.

“Being a team of two makes it not only more enjoyable but also a lot safer in the mountains.”

With just over a week left of the MBA summer vacation, we hope that all the MBAs are enjoying this well-deserved break and look forward to welcoming them back to Lausanne and the IMD campus!
