Frances Rousseau and her MBA classmates launch their Discovery Expedition with some traditional hiking and fondu in the Swiss Alps.

I’m currently tearing myself away from an epic first evening of the MBA Discovery Expedition to provide an update to the outside world.

We set off at a leisurely pace yesterday (Monday) morning. Just over an hour later we arrived in the historic ski town of Champéry. Upon arrival, we were treated to breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps and shortly thereafter a scrumptious lunch.

After a few wise words from our Dean, Professor Sean Meehan, we enjoyed a seminar on how to develop our fitness as ‘business athletes’. We then headed off on a traditional alpine hike, with stimulating conversations on the way up the mountain. The après ski-style drinks at the top were well-deserved!

We then indulged in some traditional fondue – rich with kirsche and drenched in Swiss heritage. What a treat! Finally, some dancing and karaoke continued in the background as I write this, ushering in what I expect to be a truly unforgettable start to our two-week adventure together.

Stay tuned to find out more about the activities, visits and guest speakers lined up as our Discovery Expedition continues! September bloggers, Douglas Petry and Temitope Orekoya will be share more about this amazing learning experience.
